Hey folks,

Well you know you are tired when you wake up and try to put shaving cream on your toothbrush.

Loving every minute of it though.

I am trying to be more mindful of things this time.

Keep our tempers under control and take each minute step by step.

Well as you might have guessed I'm pressed for time, again, so I must cut this one short.

Have a day

Day 9

Hey folks it's been a few days now and well expectanly Our son has become a little human being developing quite nicely.

Susan has her hands full as I watch her when I come home with all the feedings and changing the diapers.
I am very proud of her!!!
I know it's not an easy job.

Well so far the developments are his eyes are still blue and he is gaining weight nicely.

He is still a bit jaundice, but that was to be expected so we have taken the proper steps to reduce that by taking him outdoors every morning when there is enough sun (which is most days here) and gradually the jaundice is improving.

Well I'm kinda busy at work lately with 3rd quarter finals and yearbook pictures to be taken.

I'll post this now and hopefully have more to comment on later.

have a great day folks.

5 Days old!

Day 5 "The face of an angel"

Hello folks,

My alarm went off at the normal time (5:30am) and I reached for my handphone to hit the snooze and try to recapture the dream I was having when, I looked over to the pillow on the other side of the bed and saw my new son laying there, just 5 days old and looking so angelic, so I reached for my handphone again and snapped this picture.
I can't think of a better way to spend the extra 10 minutes I was hoping to sleep through.

I hope we can all look at our children in the same way.

Back to the hospital

Well the blessed event happened and is past us now.

Sebastian Lee Jones came into the world about 9:30pm on saturday evening.
He didn't want to leave his nice warm and safe place inside his mother but with a little coaxing and some surgery he finally popped out.
He weighed in at 3.3 kilos or 7.2753lbs and 50 cm or 1.6404 feet with a pretty good attitude, except when they took blood samples from his foot in the NICU.

He and mom are currently in the hospital at this time and hopefully this will be the day they get to come home.

I am looking forward to the time when I come home to both of them eagerly waiting for my return after a long days work.

Today I will leave work early so that I can rescue them from the nurses constant prodding and poking.

Patiently waiting for Baby

Looking up the word patient gave me another insight to the meaning, "to suffer", while it feels a bit like suffering I think being patient is viewed differently than a person who might be suffering, it was also to mean bearing pains calmly or without complaint.

So being patient is what we are doing while we wait for the baby to pop out. I'm sure my wife would agree that she is bearing quite a bit of pain while we patienly wait.

The picture of the lion was one I took while at Taman Safari a couple years back and it just seemed appropriate, as he seemed to be waiting patiently for something to happen.

Well we went to the Dr's office last night and he lubed her tummy up and looked at the baby with his little machine, measuring the head carefully estimating the amount of weeks so far.
Also the weight is a little alrming as the baby is about 7lbs.
Not sure what's going to happen since the weight is more than they are used to here, compared to Asian babies, American babies are alot larger.
From what people tell me, they will almost always recomend to perform a C-section when they weight is over 3.5 kilos.
That's a bit worrying for me and Susan.
Altough she really wants to have this baby naturally.
Susan insists that it is just the Dr wanting to make more money for a more invasive procedure.
Which could be the case here with some Dr's I'm sure.

I'll be happy just as long as both are safe and healthy.

getting ready for Baby

I know I should be an ole hand at this by now, but seems my hands are old and don't remember all the things needed or wanted.

I'm surprised how calm I seem to be this time tho, this is my 4th time waiting for the baby to come out.
I'm blessed to have Susan to help with the preparation and planning all the little things you need for a new baby.
Spent the afternoon Sunday returning and then shopping for a new Play-pen.
We bought one the other day, and when I tried to assemble it there was a rather large broken plastic peice that seemed to be the one thing holding it all together, so after coaxing it all back into the box, unsuccesfully, at least most of it we took it back to the store where they tried to sell us one for a baby girl which we explained was just wonderful except for one thing, ours is a boy.
So, after much talking and struggle with the sales people we managed to leave with our money from the broken play-pen and headed out into the mall to seach for another more suitable purchase.

Well as luck would have it, we actually found a better bed in a small out of the way little place in the same mall, after many people told us there wasn't any.
So now we have the bed and all the little things that might and could go with it, Whew!

Now we are back to the waiting game again.
One of my workmates called in this morning to tell me his wife would be undergoing a C-section.
On one hand I'm very happy for him that his wait has finally finshed and to be honest I'm a little jealous.
I hope we can see our bundle of joy soon.

Ok well work calls again.
Talk soon ya
